FAQ

How do I unlock Uber Amun Ra in Hero Siege?
Head into Pyramid Floor 1, find Curacan Hollow and open it with a Curacan Key, then use the Ankh of Eternal Death at the Tomb of Amun Ra entrance. The Ankh itself costs 50 Scrolls of Ra, one Angelic Key and two Enchanted Sigils.
What happens if I ignore Amun Ra's Curse?
Community documentation reports the un-purified curse cuts roughly 80% of your maximum health. The cleanse is a glowing circle on the ground — step into it immediately instead of finishing your damage rotation, then resume.
Where do Scrolls of Ra and the Curacan Key drop?
Scrolls of Ra farm inside Curacan Hollow, with Act 3's Mos'Arathim Desert Destruction Altars as a back-up route. Curacan Keys drop very rarely from ordinary sources; the reliable methods are Chaos Pillars with the matching Ether node, or buying one from the market.

A Boss Built Around One Button

Most Uber fights test how much damage you can hold down while staying mobile. Uber Amun Ra tests something narrower and stranger: whether you can spot a purification window and get into it before it closes. That single action decides the fight. Everything else — the meteors, the walls, the shades — exists to distract you from it.

The mechanic is Amun Ra’s Curse. When it lands, a timer starts. Fail to cleanse it and the penalty is brutal: community documentation reports an un-purified curse costs you roughly 80% of your maximum health, which turns any follow-up mechanic into a kill. Gear does not solve this. Movement does.

The Unlock Chain Is a Quest of Its Own

Amun Ra has the richest community documentation of the three modern Ubers precisely because reaching him is a chain rather than a doorway:

  1. Enter Pyramid Floor 1 and locate Curacan Hollow.
  2. Open Curacan Hollow with a Curacan Key.
  3. Inside, find the gateway to the Tomb of Amun Ra.
  4. Open the tomb with the Ankh of Eternal Death.

The Ankh is the real gate at the end of that chain. Its recipe is 50× Scroll of Ra + 1× Angelic Key + 2× Enchanted Sigil. The Sigils trace back to runes sold by town merchants, so that half of the recipe is a shopping trip. The Scrolls are where the time goes.

Where the Ankh Materials Actually Come From

Two of the three inputs are ordinary enough; one is the bottleneck.

  • Scroll of Ra (the bottleneck). The primary farm is inside Curacan Hollow itself, once you are through the Key gate. The community’s back-up route is Act 3’s Mos’Arathim Desert, where Destruction Altars yield Scrolls. If you have invested in the Ether Tree, the relevant Chaos Pillar node speeds the Desert route up considerably.
  • Curacan Key (the rare drop). Ordinary drop rates are extremely low. The reliable sources are Chaos Pillars in Mos’Arathim Desert paired with the correct Ether node — or, failing that, the market. Treat a Key purchase as a legitimate shortcut rather than a defeat.
  • Angelic Key (the easy part). These are world drops and are not rare on Hell or Inferno, which most players chasing Amun Ra have already cleared.

Reading the Fight: Watch the Floor, Not the Health Bar

Amun Ra’s roster of mechanics is long, but they all resolve into one instruction — keep your eyes on the ground.

  • Crushing Meteors. A large meteor lands and then fractures into smaller pieces. The small pieces are the threat; clear the impact zone before the split, not after.
  • Decaying Walls. Slow-advancing mummy walls push across the arena. Find the gap or use a movement skill to cross them — standing still is a slow death.
  • Corrupted Sarcophagi. Sarcophagi spawn adds that need clearing quickly, or they stack pressure on top of the curse timer.
  • The Curse. The core loop. A glowing circle appears; you step in; you go back to damage. Repeat.

The modern layer overview frames Amun Ra as the “durability exam” of the trio, and that reputation comes from exactly this: nothing here hits hard enough to matter on its own, but the curse makes every other mechanic lethal if you ignore it.

Three Mini-Bosses, Then the Heart

The encounter is not a single health bar. Along the way, Shade of Thoth, Shade of Sobek and a Crocolisk interrupt the flow — treat each as a test of the same discipline you learned on the main fight, not as a DPS race.

The finale is the Heart Phase. The Heart of Amun Ra appears, and the community instruction is consistent: clear the surrounding adds first, then hit the Heart. Attacking the Heart while adds are alive is how good attempts end. If you are still deciding whether the trip is worth the materials, the honest answer for most endgame builds is yes — the modern layer remains a standard source of high-tier drops, and Amun Ra’s material chain doubles as a Chaos Pillar farm you would be running anyway.

Amun Ra FAQ

Can I buy my way past the Ankh of Eternal Death grind?

Partly. The Angelic Key and Enchanted Sigils are purchasable or common, and the market can supply a Curacan Key. Scrolls of Ra are the part you realistically farm unless you are willing to buy them at market rates — and the Curacan Hollow run that produces them is the same run you need for the Key anyway.

Do I have to finish the shades before starting the Heart Phase?

Yes in practice. The shades and the Crocolisk exist to add pressure, and the Heart Phase does not pause that pressure. Clear them, then commit to the Heart — trying to split your damage between both is what breaks otherwise clean attempts.

Is Uber Amun Ra still worth farming in Season 10?

It remains on the modern-layer rotation for builds that have finished their endgame core. Season 10’s new Uber trio gets the attention and the top-end loot, but Amun Ra’s kills stay profitable and its unlock chain feeds the same endgame systems. For where the layer sits relative to the rest of the roster, see the Uber bosses guide.
